Outlook for Windows Email Setup

Use this guide to set up your email account in Microsoft Outlook on a Windows computer.

Before You Start

Before setting up your email account, make sure you have:

  • Your full email address
  • Your email password
  • A working internet connection

We recommend using IMAP because it keeps your email synced across your devices.

 

Email Server Settings

Incoming Mail

Server: imap.emailpnl.com

Port: 993

Security: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail

Server: smtp.emailpnl.com

Port: 465

Security: SSL/TLS

If port 465 does not work, try port 587 with STARTTLS.

Username: Use your full email address.

Webmail:

https://webmail.emailpnl.com

 

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your Windows computer.
  2. Go to the account setup screen.
  3. Enter your full email address.
  4. Choose manual setup if Outlook asks for the account type.
  5. Select IMAP.
  6. For the incoming mail server, enter imap.emailpnl.com.
  7. For the incoming port, enter 993.
  8. Make sure the incoming security option is set to SSL/TLS.
  9. For the outgoing mail server, enter smtp.emailpnl.com.
  10. For the outgoing port, enter 465.
  11. Make sure the outgoing security option is set to SSL/TLS.
  12. Enter your email password when prompted.
  13. Save the account.
  14. Send yourself a test email to make sure sending and receiving both work.

 

Common Problems

Outlook says it cannot connect to the server

Check that the incoming and outgoing server names are typed correctly.

I can receive email but cannot send email

This usually means the outgoing mail settings are incorrect. Check the outgoing server,
port, and security setting.

Outgoing server: smtp.emailpnl.com
Port: 465
Security: SSL/TLS

My password is not working

Make sure you are using your full email address and the correct email password.

Outlook keeps asking for my password

This usually means the password, username, or server settings are wrong.
Make sure the username is your full email address.
